Garry Monk will become Swansea City's new head coach for the foreseeable future after the sacking of Michael Laudrup, the club has confirmed.
The centre back, who joined Swansea in 2004, will work alongside first team coach Alan Curtis.
The Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins urged everyone involved with the club to get behind Monk:
“I hope all our supporters can fully understand how difficult this period has been for us and I would urge everyone connected to the football club to get behind Garry Monk, the staff and players.’’
