Kevin Pietersen's England career was cut short by three to four years, according to one former England Captain.
Pietersen said he was "very sad the incredible journey has come to an end" after he was left out of the England squad for the tour of West Indies and World Twenty20.
Alec Stewart said he regarded Pietersen as "one of England's greatest ever players" and was disappointed and angry by the decision.
