Europe 'to take UK to court' over migrant benefits

The European Commission is to take Britain to court over its attempts to limit benefits payments to migrants ahead of the European elections, the Sunday Telegraph reported.

The European Commission said it was bringing its legal case because the “right to reside” test is discriminatory since British citizens do not have to pass it.

According to the newspaper, the lawsuit will be lodged “shortly” in the European Court of Justice.
