Top student speaks of deportation fears

An A level student who fled her home in Mauritius after a family member threatened her with violence and sexual assault has spoken of her fears if she returns.

Yashika Bageerathi said the man in question, who deals drugs, had people waiting for her to arrive home and was angry because he had lost money.

My family will know where I am. He [the family member] is already after our lives, he says he has people waiting at the airport for us to come back.

He lost a lot of money because of us to do with his drug-dealing.
