An A level student who fled her home in Mauritius after a family member threatened her with violence and sexual assault has spoken of her fears if she returns.
Yashika Bageerathi said the man in question, who deals drugs, had people waiting for her to arrive home and was angry because he had lost money.
My family will know where I am. He [the family member] is already after our lives, he says he has people waiting at the airport for us to come back.
He lost a lot of money because of us to do with his drug-dealing.
Speaking to ITV News Yashika Bageerathi said she was all alone and did not know what she was going to do without her family and friends.
Speaking to her mother as she boarded she said she was scared about landing in the country she fled in 2011.
Speaking to ITV News Yashika Bageerathi appealed directly to the Immigration Minister and the Home Secretary to remain in the UK.
