MH370 families 'want access to jet data and recordings'

The media has been told that Malaysia's Deputy Foreign Minister is in China waiting to speak with relatives of passengers on the the missing MH370 flight, while they say they have not been told of any meeting with Hamzah Zainuddin.

The families have technical questions for the minister, including a request for access to the raw satellite and technical data connected to the March 8 flight, as well as the chance to listen to the final voice recording from air traffic control with the cockpit.

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has said the search for missing flight MH370 is now "entering a new phase". He said the effort would now be "focussed on searching the ocean floor" over a "much larger area" than is currently being covered.
