Russia tells Germany 'Ukraine violence must stop'

Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov has told German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier that all violence in Ukraine must be halted, primarily "the use of the army and armed radical nationalists in southeastern Ukraine," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The pair agreed in a telephone conversation that an OSCE mission should play an active role in efforts to defuse tension in Ukraine, the Ministry said.
