Uninterrupted sunshine in parts of Scotland today saw the temperature rise to 22C (71.6F) in Aviemore, beating the previous 2014 record of 21.2C set in Cambridge just seven days ago.

Forecasters have predicted a slightly cooler few days across much of the UK, with temperatures still in the mid-teens, as well as a largely dry and sunny Bank Holiday weekend.
