'At least 34 dead' after tornadoes rip through US

A succession of powerful storms tearing across the southern states of America are now known to have killed at least 34 people. The storms have wreaked havoc in heavily populated areas, with the states of Arkansas and Mississippi hardest hit.

Death toll 'rises to 26' as severe weather hits the US

The death toll has risen to at least 26 following two days of severe weather and tornadoes in the US, the Associated Press reported.
