Lawyers for Clayton Lockett and Charles Warner had tried to postpone their death by lethal injection, arguing that the combination of drugs used for the execution could cause their clients undue suffering.

The two men, who were convicted of separate murders in the 1990s, will be put to death within two hours of one another.
