A teacher who was stabbed to death at a school in Leeds was "loved by everybody", one of her former pupils has told Good Morning Britain.
Kathleen Walpole said of Spanish teacher Ann Maguire, "She was a warm, funny person - she could be strict, but she was a respected teacher ... she became a friend".
Father Peter Fisher said there had been "a great outpouring of affection" for Ms Maguire by the local community.
Although a shocking attack, this is a rare attack. There are few other occasions when a teacher was stabbed inside their school by a pupil.
A 15-year-old schoolboy is in police custody tonight, suspected of stabbing to death his teacher.
