Calls for action 'against mass kidnap and rape'

Protesters in London today called for the international community to act, alongside Nigeria, to rescue the 234 girls kidnapped more than two weeks ago in Nigeria by Islamists Boko Haram.

Speaking to Channel Four News Reporter Fatima Manji, American-British playwright Bonnie Greer said the fact that the girls were black and the kidnapping took place in Africa instead in of Europe or American has resulted in the story failing to attract the media attention it should.

The London protest was one of several across the UK, the US and Europe today, as pressure on the authorities to act continues to grow.

Nigeria: Captured girls 'face rape danger'
