A Conservative party candidate has resigned after posting homophobic and anti-Islamic and comments on Twitter.
David Bishop, a candidate in Brentwood South, Essex, apologised after retweeting posts including one that referred to Islam as the "religion of rape” and another that read “How CAN a gay guy keep a straight face?,” the Brentwood Gazette reported.
