Britain will offer another two Typhoon warplanes to patrol the skies of eastern Europe amid continuing tensions with Russia over the Ukraine cris, David Cameron has said.

Nato commander: 'Russia won't send troops to Ukraine'

Nato's top general said he does not think Russia will send troops across the border into eastern Ukraine, adding that he predicts Moscow would achieve its goals by other means.

General Philip Breedlove, Nato's Supreme Allied Commander Europe, also told an audience in Ottawa that it was too early to say whether Russian special forces were firing missiles at Ukrainian helicopters. At least three helicopters have been shot down in the last week.
