A Pentagon spokesman has said there has been "no change" in the position of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border, despite assurances from Vladimir Putin that his forces have been withdrawn.
"We have seen no change in the Russian force posture and we've long called on the Russians ... to withdraw their troops from along the border", Colonel Steve Warren said.
He added that the US military "would know" if there had been any movement of troops.
