Man on the run after fleeing crown court dock

A man has gone on the run after fleeing from the dock at Manchester Crown Court.

Louis Robinson made his escaped as he was being sentenced on Thursday. He had been ordered to serve 12 month sentence for aggravated vehicle taking and attempted burglary.

Louis Robinson absconded from Manchester Crown Court on Thursday.

Inspector Phil Spurgeon, said: “Robinson committed serious offences, for which he was being sentenced. Taking exception to his prison sentence, he has taken the decision to abscond.

“We have circulated his image and I would ask members of the public to help us and act as our eyes and ears, to keep a look out for him and if seen to call us immediately on 999.

“I also want anyone who might know Louis, who has seen him or knows of his current whereabouts, to please call us in confidence."
