Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan has cancelled his first visit to the village from which more than 200 girls were abducted because of security fear, a government source has told Reuters.
Jonathan will fly from the capital Abuja to Paris today for a regional summit to discuss the Boko Haram insurgency and wider insecurity and will not now make a stop in the north eastern village of Chibok, said the source.
The Nigerian military has flown more than 300 sorties in the hunt for the abducted schoolgirls, a Major has told ITV News' Rageh Omaar.
A newly released video from Boko Haram reportedly shows the kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls.
The man who started a viral hashtag campaign in support of the kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls says it has forced the government to act.
