Graham Male, father of missing British yachtsmen James Male, told Good Morning Britain correspondent Richard Gaisford that he is confident the sailors will be found.
"It's been a rollercoaster of an emotional ride, but we're convinced that they're going to find something out there," he said.
"You've got to live in hope. It's a large search area and I think they're going to find them."
With no sign of a life raft or of debris, and with nearly 20,000 square miles having been searched, the hunt continues for another day.
Veteran yachtsman Tony Bullimore tells ITV News that there is a "strong possibility" the yachtsmen are still alive in the life raft.
