Energy company Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) has announced pre-tax profits increased 9.6% in the year to 31 March.
The firm said investment in gas production was largely behind the figures, as its retail profits fell 28.6%.
ITV News Business Editor Joel Hills reports:
SSE reports pre-tax profit of £1.5 billion for last year, retail business made less money due to mild weather, also lost 370,000 accounts
SSE making more money generating electricity but less selling it (and gas) to households. Retail profit just under 3 pence in the pound.
SSE says it's commitment to freeze energy bills between March 2014 and Jan 2016 will cost it £100 million.
