European leaders will review the economic area's agenda after voters "sent a strong message" in the election which saw a surge from Eurosceptic parties, European Council President Herman Van Rompuy has said.

Lib Dem defeats at euro elections 'demoralising'

The catastrophic Lib Dem losses at the local and European elections have been "demoralising", one the party's biggest casualties told Good Morning Britain.

Sir Graham Watson, who lost his seat in last week's elections despite holding it since 1994, said the vote was clearly about "anti-Europeanism" but also "protest against the Government of the day."
