Ukip: Saying this is a protest vote 'is condescending'

Ukip's sweeping victory at the European and council elections are not just protest votes and suggesting so "is a bit condescending", according to a senior party figure.

Peter Whittle, Ukip's culture spokesman, told Good Morning Britain voters "had seen common sense in UKIP" and "60% of people who voted for us are saying they are considering voting for us at the general election."
