European leaders will review the economic area's agenda after voters "sent a strong message" in the election which saw a surge from Eurosceptic parties, European Council President Herman Van Rompuy has said.

Vote Ukip in general election and 'end up with Labour'

Voting Ukip at the general election will split the Conservative vote and lead to a Labour Government, the Foreign Secretary has said.

William Hague reiterated the Conservative pledge for an in/out referendum on Britain's European Union membership on Good Morning Britain.

"Under a Conservative Government on the European issue we will set out to fix the relationship between Britain and the EU and secure real change."
