LSE: Govt figures on Scotland 'crude misinformation'

A leading professor has accused the UK government of using "crude' figures as part of 'misinformation' to help bolster the argument against Scottish Independence.

Patrick Dunleavy, the London School of Economics professor of Political Science and Public Policy, said the figures were "not very helpful" for Scottish voters.

He added that government figures "do not work" because Scotland does not need as many administrative departments as had been claimed.
