Dover terror arrests 'could be linked to Syria'

Two men arrested on suspicion of terrorism at Dover had travelled on a ferry from Calais to the Kent port when they were arrested.

One line of inquiry is whether the men - both confirmed to be British nationals - had travelled to or had links with terrorist activities in Syria.

Hundreds of would-be British jihadis have gone to the war-torn Middle Eastern state to join fighting there, and UK authorities recently launched a campaign to encourage Muslim women to inform on relatives they suspect of planning to travel there.
