Pension reforms announced in Queen's Speech 2014

Plans for giant "pooled" pension schemes with the potential to boost people's chances of getting a better retirement outcome have been unveiled in the Queen's Speech. The legislation will enable "collective schemes" that spreads risk between members.

Miliband: Coalition plans 'not up to the challenge'

Labour leader Ed Miliband has said that the coalition's programme did not live up to the scale of the challenges faced by Britain.

In response to the Queen's speech at the State Opening of Parliament today he is expected to set out a series of bills on banking, consumer rights, housing, communities and immigration, which Labour would put into law if it was in power.
