Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi made Coventry professor

University students will enjoy music lessons from a heavy metal legend after Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi was unveiled as their new professor.

The founding member of the the legendary heavy metal group was awarded an honorary doctorate by Coventry University in November last year.

During a recent visit the guitarist spent the afternoon talking to students and staff and answering their questions about his illustrious career. And the 65-year-old rocker got on so well there he has now been named as a professor of music for their Department for Performing Arts.

The rock icon will teach students song-writing and composition skills when he takes up the role in the Autumn.
