Labour urges Government to tackle 'passport delays'

Labour MPs rounded on the Government over reported delays at the Passport Office, saying many of their constituents had expressed concern about long waits for their travel documents.

MP Jon Ashworth said ministers needed to "get a grip" on the situation.

Some passport interviews suspended amid backlog

Interviews for first-time applicants for passports have been suspended in London as staff struggle to deal with the 30,000 backlog of applications, the Home Office has said.
