Situation inside Mosul 'chaotic' amid takeover

A government employee who fled the Iraqi city of Mosul with her family this morning said there was no sign of the police or army, and the streets were full of burning cars and buildings. She said:

"The situation is chaotic inside the city and there is nobody to help us. We are afraid. There is no police or army in Mosul."

Amateur video, purporting to be shot inside Mosul today, appears to corroborate what she said.

Locals reported that Islamists had raised the black flag of the Islamic State over key government buildings.
