Islamist militants seize Iraqi army helicopters

Militants who seized several key Iraqi cities in the last few days are now in possession of millions of dollars worth of US-made Iraq army equipment, including military helicopters.

NBC News Foreign Correspondent Ayman Mohyeldin has tweeted this image of an ISIL member apparently looking for pilots to crew an American-made Blackhawk helicopter.

Islamic State leader calls for jihad in audio message

The leader of the Islamic State, formerly Isis, has released the first audiotape calling for jihad since the group renamed. The group is currently battling Iraqi forces across large parts of the country.
