Barack Obama has hinted at the possibility of US military action in Iraq, saying "I don't rule out anything" to deal with the threat of Islamist insurgent group ISIS.
The US President said his country had an interest in ensuring Islamists did not gain a foothold in Iraq.
He also added that US official were looking at all available options for the short-term and that his administration was prepared to take military action to protect US national security.
The Foreign Secretary has been clear on the threat of Isis, but he has ruled out the prospect of any UK military involvement in the crisis.
