Iraqi military targets ISIS captured territory in airstrikes

Iraq's defence ministry said they were having some success against militant targets in air strikes. The government released footage filmed from a military helicopter shows bombs being fired at enclosures in the Nineveh province. General Hamid al-Maliki, Commander of Iraqi Army Air Wing said:

"The last three days the Iraqi Army Air Wing carried out effective missions on militant targets."

Islamic State leader calls for jihad in audio message

The leader of the Islamic State, formerly Isis, has released the first audiotape calling for jihad since the group renamed. The group is currently battling Iraqi forces across large parts of the country.
