Voice of 'Shaggy' in Scooby Doo Casey Kasem dies at 82

Casey Kasem, a US radio personality and the voice of 'Shaggy' in the Scooby Doo cartoon series has died at the age of 82.

Mr Kasem's daughter Kerri Kasem said in a statement: "Early this Father's Day morning, our dad Casey Kasem passed away surrounded by family and friends."

"Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken."

Mr Kasem was a household name in the United States after hosting the nationally-syndicated Top 40 radio programme.
