Daniel Sturridge 'not on texting terms' with Luis Suarez

Daniel Sturridge says he is not currently on "texting terms" with Liverpool team-mate Luis Suarez ahead of England's important match with Uruguay.

Luis Suarez missed Uruguay's 3-1 loss to Costa Rica as he continued to recover from a knee injury, but Sturridge revealed that he is unsure of whether the 27-year-old would be ready for Thursday's encounter.

"I'm not on texting terms with Luis. I don't think Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, Raheem (Sterling) or Glen Johnson are either," the Liverpool striker said.

Reflecting on Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Italy, the Liverpool striker said the team was disappointed that their "exciting, attacking football" was not reflected in the result but said they still had two games left to "get the job done".
