Islamic State leader calls for jihad in audio message

The leader of the Islamic State, formerly Isis, has released the first audiotape calling for jihad since the group renamed. The group is currently battling Iraqi forces across large parts of the country.

ISIS also 'focused on doing harm in US and Europe'

Airstrikes "may be an option" to combat sectarian violence in the north of Iraq, Secretary of State John Kerry has said in an interview with Yahoo News.

Mr Kerry said that there's "no question" the Islamic State of Iraq militants are focused on doing harm "not just in Iraq, but in Syria and also in the US and Europe".
