Partnership with Iran over Iraq would be 'height of folly'

A joint United States and Iran partnership to help manage the situation in Iraq would be the "height of folly", US Republican senator John McCain has said.

The 2008 Republican presidential candidate published a statement on his official website saying that:

“It would be the height of folly to believe that the Iranian regime can be our partner in managing the deteriorating security situation in Iraq."
