David Cameron has warned that Islamist militants operating in Iraq are planning to attack the UK.
"I...disagree with those people who think this is nothing to do with us, and if they want to have some sort of extreme Islamist regime in the middle of Iraq that won't affect us - it will," the Prime Minister told MPs.
"The people in that regime, as well as trying to take territory are also planning to attack us here at home in the UK, so the right answer is to be long-term, hard-headed, patient and intelligent with the interventions we make."
The Foreign Secretary has been clear on the threat of Isis, but he has ruled out the prospect of any UK military involvement in the crisis.
Iraq’s foreign minister, Hoshyar Zebari, is a natural diplomat. Polite, immaculately dressed, and blessed with a great memory.
Isis has paraded military equipment in Mosul it captured from when the Iraqi army fled in what some see as a "nightmare scenario."
