Uruguay squad have caramel spread confiscated

Uruguay's football squad have had almost 40kg of a popular caramel spread confiscated from them by Brazilian officials, the BBC reports.

The dulche de leche spread is very popular in South America, but the Brazilian officials said it did not have the proper sanitary documentation to enter the country.

A Brazilian official said the Uruguayans could have their supply back if they could produce the right documents, "or they can pick it up on their way out of Brazil".

Uruguay take on England on Thursday at 8pm in a game being shown live on ITV.
