Lyricist Gerry Goffin has died aged 75, his wife Michelle Goffin has confirmed.
Goffin, ex-husband of Carole King, wrote more than 50 top 40 hits, including Savin' All My Love for You for Whitney Houston, Crying in the Rain for the Everly Brothers, Some King of Wonderful for the Drifters, Will You Love Me Tomorrow? for the Shirilees and Take Good Care of My Baby for Bobby Vee.
Goffin and King married in 1959 when the pair were teens and the couple divorced in 1968. King also confirmed his death on her Facebook page.
