An injured potholer has been brought out alive from Germany's deepest cave system after twelve days below ground under the Alps.
He was caught in a rock fall and his head injuries meant he could not stand up, let alone climb out by himself. Some seven hundred rescuers were involved in bringing him slowly to the surface.
