Tory MP tweets about punching a female journalist

A Tory MP has appeared to tweet about physically assaulting a female journalist by punching her in the throat.

The Twitter account of Mike Fabricant, MP for Lichfield, made the comment in reference to a debate on last night's Channel 4 News on between journalists Yasmin Alibhai-Brown and Rod Liddle.

Labour's shadow minister for women immediately condemned the comments as "disgusting".
