Jim Boyce, Britain's Fifa vice-president and head of Fifa's referees committee, has expressed his concerns about an apparent biting incident, involving Uruguayan footballer Luis Suarez.
Speaking about the incident at the Italy match, where Uruguay won 1-0, Mr Boyce said:
I have watched the incident several times on television.
There is no doubt Luis Suarez is a fantastic footballer but, once again, his actions have left him open to severe criticism.
FIFA must investigate the incident seriously and take whatever disciplinary action deemed necessary.
If upheld, the four-month Luis Suarez ban from football would see him miss 16 matches, including nine Premier League games.
Big brands are continuing to exploit Luis Suarez's latest biting incident with a series of adverts.
Suarez needs to be frustrated on the training ground so he can learn how to respond differently, a sports psychologist has told ITV News.
