The Foreign Office is providing consular assistance after a Briton was arrested in the Caribbean over the death of his wife.
The Associated Press reported that a Briton had been charged with killing his wife after her body was found in a shallow grave on Grenada.
It quoted the Royal Grenada Police Force saying Alexander Clack, 32, was in custody on a charge of non-capital murder, meaning the death penalty cannot be considered if there is a conviction.
A post-mortem examination conducted on Sunday on the body of Nixiann Downes-Clack revealed that she died of blunt force trauma and asphyxiation by strangulation, it said
Her body was recovered on Friday, days after she was reported missing by relatives on the island.
