Protesters in Hong Kong today called for greater democracy in elections for the city's leader, or chief executive, which is due to take place in three years' time.

Police clash with Hong Kong democracy protestors

Hong Kong police have forcibly removed protestors kicking and screaming from the city's central business district, Reuters reports.
