West Midlands police and crime commissioner dies

Elected police and crime commissioner for the West Midlands Bob Jones has died suddenly aged 59, the commissioner's office has confirmed.

Mr Jones, who was born and bred in Wolverhampton and served as a councillor in the city from 1980 to 2013, was elected as the first West Midlands police and crime commissioner (PCC) in November 2012.
