Israel said they were targeting a militant within the Islamic Jihad group, but officials said all those who died were civilians. At least 14 people have died so far today, according to the Associated Press.
It's been an emotionally exhausting day in Israel and Gaza as hopes for peace were raised then dashed then raised then dashed again.

Until the Israelis and the Palestinians find a way of resolving the underlining conflict this will not be more than a pause.
