Israel: Our goal is to dismantle Hamas infrastructure

While Israel and Gaza continued to exchange fire today, battlelines were also drawn in New York.

At a meeting of the UN Security Council, Palestine called for an "end to the bloodshed of the Palestinian people" while Israel's UN envoy said the Jewish state did not support a ceasefire, telling reporters "Our clear goal is to dismantle the infrastructure that Hamas has amassed."

Israel launches ground offensive in Gaza as air strikes continue

Israel has launched a ground offensive in Gaza with residents reporting heavy shelling in the area. Palestinian health officials say 27 Palestinians, including a baby, two children and a 70-year-old woman, have been killed since Israel sent ground forces into the densely-populated strip of 1.8 million Palestinians.
