Cameron: 'Prudence paid for £1.1 billion extra defence'

Prime Minister David Cameron has said the Government's economic prudence has allowed it to invest an extra £1.1 billion on "absolutely vital" defence.

Government to invest further £1.1 billion in armed forces

The armed forces will have £1.1 billion cash injection to improve capabilities, the Government has announced. The Ministry of Defence will help beef-up counter-terrorism surveillance as well as purchase the ice patrol ship, HMS Protector.
