William Hague: Time is right to move on from politics

William Hague says the time is right to move on from politics as he announced his decision to stand down as an MP at the next election after 26 years.

Hague will leave his post as Foreign Secretary to become the Leader of the Commons, before leaving Parliament in 2015.


From May 2015, after such a long period in politics I want to embark on many other things I have always wanted to do


Renewal in politics is good, and holding office is not an end in itself. After 26 years as an MP time will be right for me to move on

Cameron: New Cabinet team 'reflects modern Britain'

Prime Minister David Cameron has said his new Cabinet "has the ability to take this country forward." Mr Cameron is expected to finalise the lower ranks of government this morning, before taking questions in the Commons.
