Victim: Cyril Smith 'had such a grip' on Rochdale

One of the victims abused by former Liberal MP Cyril Smith has told ITV News that the politician was such a "bully" that people were afraid to challenge his behaviour.

Eddie Shorrock told ITV News Political Correspondent Romilly Weeks that Smith had "such a grip" on the Lancashire town of Rochdale that he "would have challenged anyone" who questioned his conduct.

Smith had 'full parental rights' over young residents

A police report has revealed that Sir Cyril Smith was interviewed by an officer in February 1970, but refused to answer questions regarding indecent assault allegations against young boys.
