A couple who were due to fly on the crashed Malaysia Airlines have told of their plans to return home to Kuala Lumpur immediately despite the air disaster.
Barry Sim, from Scotland, and his wife Izzy were due on flight MH17 but changed to a later booking at the last minute. He says waiting to return home would be "delaying the inevitable".
They also described their shock at hearing of the crash, with Mrs Sims saying: "We were supposed to be on the flight... obviously something is watching over us."
Thousands of online users have taken to social media to call for the victims of the Malaysian airliner crash to be returned to loved ones.
United States intelligence officials admitted that they do not know who fired the surface-to-air missile that downed flight MH17.
