The crash of a Malaysian airliner in eastern Ukraine, allegedly shot down by separatists, is a "game changer" in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, a former US assistant secretary of defence told ITV News.
Lawrence Korb, who is also a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, said: "Up to now the Ukrainian conflict been between the Europeans, the US and Russia but now you have the rest of the world paying attention - everybody in the world flies".
Thousands of online users have taken to social media to call for the victims of the Malaysian airliner crash to be returned to loved ones.
United States intelligence officials admitted that they do not know who fired the surface-to-air missile that downed flight MH17.
